On Sunday 14 September 2025, Paris and the Hauts-de-Seine celebrated an event like no other, with a focus on sport and sharing. Visit Rowing across Paris and the Hauts-de-Seine region celebrated its 40ᵉ birthdayan exceptional event organised this year as part of the National Sports Day

A record-breaking international edition

From 7.15am, 285 boats and 1,500 rowers from 119 clubs of which 40 % of foreigners representing 11 nations set off from Boulogne to cover the length and breadth of the 28 kilometres linking Hauts-de-Seine to the east of Paris.
The only rowing race authorised to cross the capital on the Seine, the event offers participants a unique panorama: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre-Dame... in less than three hours, Paris is revealed from an unprecedented angle, along the water.

A friendly sports festival

True to its spirit, the Traversée de Paris is not a competition, but rather a moment of fun. sharing, discovering and surpassing oneself. After the effort, the rowers met again at the nautical base for a drink. convivial lunch prepared by the caterer who has been with us faithfully for several years and who never disappoints. As usual, he proposed a tasty hot dish, with a vegetarian version to satisfy all the participants.

Elected representatives on hand for the kick-off

This anniversary edition was also marked by the presence of numerous local and institutional representativesThey were there to mark the start of the ride, symbolising the importance of this sporting, cultural and popular event. Their presence at the start of the ride was a symbol of the community support the development of rowing and, more broadly, the promotion of sport for all in the heart of Paris and the Hauts-de-Seine.

An exceptional mobilisation

More than 150 volunteers were mobilised all weekend to welcome rowers and clubs, provide logistics and ensure the smooth running of the race. Their commitment made a major contribution to the success of this 40ᵉ edition.

An edition with a seal of approval and solidarity

This 40ᵉ edition benefited from additional visibility thanks to its official recognition as part of the National Sports Day.
In addition, a ephemeral boutique was selling merchandise in the colours of the event (polo shirts, T-shirts, goodies, posters), and a refreshment bar was on hand throughout the day to prolong the conviviality ashore.

Today, the Traversée de Paris et des Hauts-de-Seine rowing race is a must for rowing enthusiasts and the curious alike. Every year, the event attracts more and more participants, confirming its reputation as one of the world's leading rowing competitions. national and international influence.
